SKNews, Seruyan – Dalam upaya meningkatkan hasil produksi pada sektor pertanian di wilayah Kabupaten Seruyan, Pemerintah Daerah (Pemda) setempat didorong untuk memaksimalkan lahan tidur yang berpotensi.
Ketua Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah (DPRD) Seruyan, Zuli Eko Prasetyo menyebutkan, sejumlah daerah masih banyak ditemukan lahan tidur yang belum dilakukan penggarapan oleh pemiliknya, terutama untuk menanam padi yang saat ini hasilnya sangat menjanjikan.
“Berdasarkan informasi dari pihak Desa Pematang Limau salah satunya, wilayah tersebut memiliki kurang lebih 3.000 hektare, dan saat ini yang mampu tergarap hanya sekitar 1.200 hektare,” katanya, Senin, (12/6/23).
Dijelaskannya, sesuai dengan informasi yang diterima masih ada luasan lahan sekitar 1.800 hektare yang berpotensi untuk dimaksimalkan.
“Inilah yang kami harapkan melalui DKPP, potensi pertanian dapat dtiingkatkan lagi. Susun dan buatkan program untuk memaksimalkan dan memanfaatkan lahan yang belum digarap,” ujarnya.
Ketua menambahkan, ini hanya salah satu contoh lahan yang belum digarap, belum untuk desa dan kecamatan lainnya. Tidak menutup kemungkinan lebih dari 10.000 hektare lahan yang berpotensi untuk dikelola. *.*
