SKNews, Seruyan – Sebagian besar petani di wilayah Kabupaten Seruyan menanam padi jenis siam empang dengan produktivitas per hektarnya mencapai 4 ton, bahkan sejumlah petani mampu menghasilkan padi sebesar 6 ton per hektarnya jika perawatannya dilakukan dengan baik.
Produktivitas padi di Seruyan khususnya yang ada di Kecamatan Seruyan Hilir dan Seruyan Hilir Timur sangat meningkat, di mana dalam perhektarnya mampu mencapai 4 sampai dengan 6 ton. Namun, peningkatan produktivitas padi ini tergantung dari cara petani dalam mengelola padi, mulai dari menanam, pemberian pupuk, sampai dengan proses perawatan.
Dari data yang terhimpun di lapangan sebagian besar dari para petani masih menggunakan sistem tabur untuk mengelola padinya, di mana dalam sistem tabur ini ada sejumlah keuntungan yang bisa di dapat oleh petani.
“Sistem tabur hemat tenaga dan waktu dengan bibit yang ditanam cukup banyak, namun ada juga yang sudah menggunakan sistem tanam. Jenis padi yang ditanam berbeda yakni jenis infari dan varietas lainnya, kata Kepala Dinas Ketahanan Pangan Dan Pertanian (DKPP) Seruyan, Albidinnor, Selasa, (31/1/23).
Ia berharap, ke depan para petani ada beras jenis lain yang ditanam secara bergantian. Salah satunya beras jenis lokal siam empang maupun bibit unggul lainnya. Sehingga pemasaran beras bisa mengalami peningkatan tidak hanya dalam daerah namun juga ke luar daerah.
“Ke depan kami dan para petani yang ada akan terus berinovasi secara bertahap pada lahan balai benih yang berada beriut, terutama pada jenis beras yang ditanam agar tidak hanya 1 jenis,” ujarnya.
Sementara itu, salah seorang petani padi di Kecamatan Seruyan Hilir, Yunani menyampaikan, pada tahun 2022 lalu ada peningkatan hasil panen padi yang didapatnya termasuk petani lainnya, di mana dalam 1 hektar padi yang dihasilkan sebesar 6 ton.
“Alhmdulillah tahun lalu hasil panen kami mengalami peningkatan yang cukup besar, biasanya per hektar hanya 4 ton, kini sudah bisa mencapai 6 ton. Inilah yang membuat para petani bersemangat untuk menanam padi,” katanya. *.*
