Hal tersebut di ungkapkan Kepala Dinas Perdagangan, Koperasi, UKM dan Perindustrian (DPKUKMP) Kota Palangka Raya Samsul Rizal kepada awak media seusai pelaksanaan Operasi Pasar Khusus Beras Siam di Kelurahan Menteng Jl. Yos Sudarso III Kec. Jekan Raya, Kamis (26/1).
“Karena di beras lokal sekarang, beras siam khususnya, minatnya cukup tinggi, nah makanya kita ambil hari ini beras siam sehingga menetralkan harga di pasar juga,” ujarnya.
Ia juga menyampaikan bahwa sejauh ini sudah sebanyak tiga kali diadakan Operasi Pasar, dan akan terus berkelanjutan ke kelurahan lainnya di Kota Palangka Raya.
“Sejauh ini selama bulan januari sudah 3x di adakan Operasi Pasar Khusus Beras Siam, dan selanjutnya akan ada di kelurahan Pahandut, kelurahan Bereng Bengkel, dan kelurahan Kameloh Baru,” tambahnya.
Berbeda dengan di akhir tahun lalu, Pemerintah Kota Palangka Raya melakukan Operasi Pasar Murah dengan memberikan subsidi untuk sembako, sedangkan di awal tahun ini Pemerintah Kota hanya mensubsidi beras, salah satunya alasannya di ungkapkan kepala dinas, Samsul Rizal, karena beras salah satu penyumbang inflasi.
“Dari sekian banyak komoditas, kenapa memilih beras, karena dampak inflasi menjadi salah satu alasannya, karena beras memang kita akui sangat menyumbang dalam tingkat inflasi, karena saat ini rata-rata beras memang kebutuhan pokok kita, dan masih kita datangkan dari luar, sehingga itulah yang memicu inflasi. Makanya saat ini, begitu ada gejolak harga, beras ini sangat berperan dalam menekan inflasi,” paparnya.
Dirinya juga menyebut, dalam waktu dekat akan mengadakan Operasi Pasar lagi dengan menggunakan beras yang sama, yakni beras siam.
“Nantinya, ditempat atau kelurahan yang kami adakan Operasi Pasar berikutnya, kami akan menggunakan beras siam lagi, karena memang lagi diminati beras siam,” pungkasnya. *.*
