Kecelakaan kapal ferry penyeberangan yang kerap kali terjadi tentu harus mendapatkan perhatian serius dari berbagai pihak baik pemerintah daerah dalam hal ini dinas perhubungan dalam membuka celah bagi para pelaku usaha untuk tunduk pada peraturan dan ketentuan yang harus dilakukan serta mentaati peraturan dimaksud.
Baru – baru ini sebuah kecelakaan kembali terjadi di kawasan dusun Palambahen desa Pangkuh Hulu Kecamatan Pandih Batu Kelimantan Tengah atau lebih familiar disebat penyeberangan ferry Pandih Batu dengan menewaskan 3 orang penumpang dewasa dan anak – anak, kamis ( 4/7 ).
Tim gabungan dan masyarakat setempat melakukan pencarian korban juga memakan waktu berhari – hari baik dari tim Pulang Pisau, Balakar Kapuas dan Polres Pulang Pisau dan ketiga korban ditemukan dalam lokasi yang berbeda – beda.
Peristiwa tentu menyisakan peristiwa dan duka yang mendalam bagi korban satu keluarga tersebut disamping juga menjadi perhatian bagi semua pihak untuk terus melakukan evaluasi dalam operasional setiap kapal ferry yang beroperasi.
Menurut keterangan salah satu warga Pandih Batu menyebutkan bahwa kapal fery ini baru beroperasi bulan puasa tahun 2019 ini yang dimiliki oleh salah seorang kepala desa dengan kondisi kapal tunggal sehingga sangat tidak stabil apabila penumpang jenis mobil baru masuk ferry.
“Kapal ini tunggal sehingga saat saya naik dengan mobil pasti oleng ditambah lagi pagar kapal tidak menjamin keselamatan mobil saat masuk sebab hanya rantai dikaitkan baut, ganjal ban yang semestinya pagar kapal harus kayu ulin agar kuat saat bersentukan dengan mobil yang masuk,” ungkapnya.
Dirinya menambahkan saat turun kapal tersebut pasti kapal dalam keadaan miring dan ini berbeda dengan kapal yang doble seperti kapal di ferry mintin walau tarif sama – sama 50 ribu dengan waktu jarak 10 menit sampai ke seberang.
Kondisi inilah yang harus menjadi perhatian pemerintah dalam hal ini dinas perhubungan agar lebih selektif dalam memberikan ijin operasional kapal ferry tanpa memandang siapa pemilik usaha tersebut, jika pun dilakukan pemberian ijin harus diperhatikan dengan baik syarat – syarat teknis agar keselamatan penumpang terjamin.
Lanjut sumber tersebut mengatakan bahwa kapasitas muat kapal ferry mencapai 4 buah mobil dan kondisi ini menurutnya juga tidak dilakukan pemeriksaan terus menerus terkait dengan himbauan penumpang harus turun mobil dan lainnya apalagi asuransi katanya juga tidak ada. dy/red
